CATEGORY MANAGER (DIGITAL/IT SECTION)

A reputed electronic hypermarket is in need of BUYER/CATEGORY MANAGER for DIGITAL/ IT Section with the following REQUIREMENTS, duties and responsibilities:

- Experience in the same field is REQUIRED
- No less than 4 years of Experience
- Responsible for the over-all assortment planning and purchasing of his/her assigned section. Develops an assortment plan including price point and space allocation for a product
- Manage suppliers and guarantee a good performance level in line with price, quality, on time delivery and budget. Negotiate contracts and their conditions and ensure contract management
- Tracks and review category sales to provide analysis for increased sales opportunities, improve margins, manage inventories, product ageing and decrease markdowns
- Conduct regular scans of benchmarking competitors to identify opportunities and challenges
- Must adhere to the buy budget/purchase plans and ensure that the goods is always updated and the product range complete
- Communicate with and evaluate vendors to ascertain ability to meet company requirements
- Collaborate with the floor manager for the floor arrangement of his section and assists in the Customer Care and Customer Service, if needed.
- Prepare and constantly innovate sales & marketing programs for his section and ensure its proper execution and implementation, do price checking and ensure that the store’s price is always competitive with the existing market’s price and that the items being sold in the section is updated and the product range complete as much as possible
- Conduct meeting with section employees and floor manager for goal setting and constant product updates and ensure that section employees are well oriented about new products and its counterpart in the market particularly the product warranties and guaranties & its strengths and weaknesses.
- Ensure that all documents relating to the movement of the product that is Purchase Order, GRN, Sales, Sales Returns are properly documented and prepared in the right code and in the right time.
- Should be present whenever any import consignment arrives in the store and have a joint meeting with other dept. particularly in Marketing and Accounts Depts. to resolve discrepancies in inventories and to address any course corrections that may be needed.
- Strictly implement and enforce company policies and procedures and perform other tasks that maybe assigned from time to time
